Hello from Spain and yes, the same Spain that just won the World Cup!

We are currently sitting on the Costa Brava, enjoying the Catalan sunshine, and thinking about how completely unhinged the concept of "space" is depending on where you live.

If you live in a major city, you are heavily conditioned to accept absolute nonsense. You pay a premium for a "cozy" apartment where you can literally stir your pasta while sitting on the sofa. You celebrate finding a place where the bathroom door doesn't actively hit the sink when you open it.

And then you look at the European housing market, and the math just breaks your brain.

Suddenly, you realize that instead of fighting a stressful bidding war for a slightly larger city balcony, you could just... buy a 17,000-square-meter Spanish estate. Or twin mountain homes in Sicily. Or an abandoned 7,500-square-meter Italian seminary with 120 rooms, just in case you ever want to start your own cult.

This week, we went hunting for properties that completely distort your sense of scale and give you a hilarious amount of space (and one highly efficient city loft, just to keep us grounded).
