🎓 Continental Crash Course
Planning a move to Spain? Here's your comprehensive guide to Spanish visas in 2024, with important changes on the horizon.
Spanish Visas at a Glance: 2024
The Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV) is perfect for those with passive income, requiring €30,000 yearly earnings. You'll get one year initially, then two-year renewals. Private health insurance is mandatory.
For remote workers, the Digital Nomad Visa offers a great option. You'll need to show monthly income of €2,000-2,500. The visa runs for one year and can be renewed up to five years. Plus, you'll benefit from a favorable 24% flat tax rate.
The Golden Visa program still exists but may end in 2025. Currently, invest €500,000 in property and get a two-year visa with no residency requirements. Your family can join you too.
Want permanent residency? Stay five years continuously in Spain, with no more than one year away during this period. Once permanent, you can work freely in Spain.
Citizenship takes longer - typically 10 years of residence. However, Spanish speakers can apply after 2 years, and those married to Spaniards after just one year. Remember though, you'll need to give up your original citizenship.
Important: All visa applications must be made from your home country, not while visiting Spain.
Confession time: We may have spent way too long today imagining ourselves hosting wine tastings in that Galician vineyard. But can you blame us? Between the French mountain air, Portuguese waves, and those Lake Como sunsets, this week's finds have us absolutely smitten!

📌 The AffordiHome Fine Print (We Promise It's Worth Reading!)
Before you start packing your bags, here's what you need to know:
We're property enthusiasts, not real estate agents. We scour the internet for intriguing and potentially affordable European homes, but we don't sell or rent them ourselves.
Our listings come from various real estate websites. While we do our best to find gems, we can't guarantee they're still available – these places might be snapped up faster than you can say "charming rustic cottage"!
Remember, this newsletter is for inspiration and information. Always do your homework before making any big decisions. We're great at finding cool properties, but we're not financial advisors or psychics.
All those lovely photos? Full credit goes to the original owners and agents. We're just here to appreciate and share.
By reading this newsletter, you agree that AffordiHome is responsible for fueling your European home fantasies, but not for any spontaneous property purchases!
